The Nitecore i8 itellicharger is an eight bay charger

capable of charging lithium-ion/IMR and NiMH/Ni-Cd simultaneously and

independently.

Each slot is capable of a maximum output of up to

1500 mA when only two batteries are charging, 1000 mA with four

batteries charging and 500 mA with all eight batteries charging.

The

active current distribution technology will automatically direct all

the power where it is needed, for example when a battery is nearly fully

charged the i8 will divert portion of it current to charge the other

batteries. It also redirects current when using the USB output allowing

up to four batteries to be charged simultaneously with the USB output,

if anymore than four batteries are being charged then the i8 will charge

the batteries first.

A battery activation feature can revive over

discharged lithium-ion batteries, which is not possible in all battery

chargers, although you cannot charge over discharged unprotected

batteries as batteries without a protection circuit may cause fire or

explosion.

The i8 will intelligently select the appropriate

voltage and charging mode based on the battery capacity and it can also

identify if batteries have been inserted with reverse polarity or short

circuited and will notify the user with a quick flashing LED above the

relevant channel.

While charging is in progress a red LED will

illuminate above the charging slot and once charging has complete the

LED will go green and charging will automatically stop. Overtime

protection is also built in and will individually monitor the elapsed

charging time for each slot and is an particular slot exceeds 20 hours

the i8 will automatically stop charging and the green power indicators

will illuminate to indicate completion of the charging process.
